Self-Adhesive Conforming Bandages with Bitter Coating

The self-adhesive conforming bandages with bitter substances are suitable for the fixation of wound dressings, padding bandages as well as for the protection of applied gauze dressings. The bitter substances contained in the adhesive bandage prevent gnawing and licking of the bandage in order to avoid wound healing disorders or infections of the tissue due to penetrating germs.

Another advantage of the self-adhesive conforming bandages is the special material used to produce them–it is particularly robust, soft and easily torn by hand without scissors. Thanks to the good adhesive properties, the dressing does not slide when using this elastic bandage; allowing the animal to move unimpeded following the treatment. These elastic cohesive bandages do not tweak the fur, nor do they cause a static charge.

The self-adhesive conforming bandages with bitter coating have been specially developed for veterinary medicine to prevent animals from chewing and licking the dressing material and the wound beneath. This self-adhesive conforming bandage has been treated with special bitter substances that do not harm the animal.

Please note: 
In exceptional cases where the animal starts licking the bandage in spite of the bitter coating, this can trigger increased salivation. This is harmless, however, and will abate after a short time.
