The Right Hoof Care for Healthy Hooves
Hoof care is one of the most important parts of horse care. Bedding contaminated by faeces and urine leads to soiling of the sole and frog. This affects the quality of the hoof horn, which is why stepped-in manure must be removed at least once a day from every horse kept in the stable. Scraping, cleaning and care prevent rotting processes in the hoof. The sole is cleaned with a hoof pick, also called a hoof scraper, and any stones that have entered the lateral frog furrow or the white line are removed as well.
