California Mastitis Test Paddle

The white plastic test paddle is used for the indirect and semi-quantitative determination of the cell count in raw milk. The California mastitis test is performed by filling each well with a quantity of milk which is then mixed with an appropriate amount of test liquid (1:1). In the case of an increased cell content streaks, gel or clots can be detected after only a few seconds, indicating mastitis.
