AeroDawg - Canine Aerosol Chamber
AeroDawg is a vet tested tool to help dogs inhale medicated aerosols. This canine aerosol chamber (CAC) is used to deliver metered dose aerosol medication as recommended by a veterinarian to dogs with various diseases of the airways, such as chronic bronchitis or asthma.
A dog - unlike a human being - cannot inhale a metered dose inhaler at the moment of the spray burst. For this reason, the speed of the aerosol particles released when a spray burst is triggered must be reduced with the help of an aerosol priming chamber (spacer).
The particles collect in the chamber, which prevents them from sticking to the mucous membrane of the mouth and throat. Coarser aerosol particles that are not absorbed by the bronchioles remain attached to the Aerodawg CAC. The smaller aerosol particles, on the other hand, can be inhaled deeply and pass directly through the fine bronchial tubes so that the active ingredient reaches deep into the lungs and small airways. Inhaled medications deliver targeted treatments directly to the lungs. Fast & effective results are achieved, whilst using lower medication doses. This means fewer side effects for your dog and better management of conditions such as asthma.
To ensure that the dog is receiving the required medication, the AeroDawg is also equipped with a Flow-VU indicator. This indicator helps you to recognise your dog's breathing patterns so that chronic diseases can be treated effectively.
PLEASE NOTE: the inhaler is excluded from return once it has been used on the animal.
